Winfield-based Webster Engineering has been purchased by Ohio-based Selas Heat Technology Company LLC. Selas recently announced it had completed the deal.

Webster will retain the nearly 60 jobs it provides at 619 Industrial Blvd.

Selas is a Lionheart Ventures company in the process heating markets - furnaces, ovens and open firing systems. Webster is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of boiler burners for commercial, institutional and industrial markets.

The Winfield city commission has approved a letter of intent to issue Industrial Revenue Bonds on behalf of Webster to assist the company in purchasing the facility and in maintaining a world-class manufacturing facility here, city manager Warren Porter said.

Fire caused more than $1 million in damage at Webster in 2010. Office staff relocated for a time and arrangements were made to do some manufacturing off-site.

Webster recovered from the fire and reopened at its same located in the summer of 2011.
