Authorities arrested two Ark City men Saturday afternoon after they were discovered to be in possession of stolen property in rural Cowley County.
Deputies with the Cowley County Sheriff were called around 1:30 p.m. to respond to a report of a theft in progress in the 26000 block of 31st Rd. They arrived to find two men in possession of railroad iron and oil field pipe that didnít belong to them.
53-year-old Russell Helms and 40-year -old Brenton Jett were arrested and booked on charges that included theft.
Jett also had bond that had been revoked from a previous case. Helms posted bond and was released.
Jett remained in Jail on Monday afternoon, according to records.
