A Burden man has been sentenced to seven years in an Oklahoma prison on a charge of sexual battery involving a 16-year-old girl.
Marcos A. Guzman, who will turn 37 next week, was sentenced Monday to a total of 10 years on the count, however three of those are suspended. Guzman was booked into the Comanche County Detention Center following his sentencing.
He will eventually be transferred into the custody of the Oklahoma Dept. of Corrections to serve his time.
Guzman pleaded guilty to the sexual battery charge in November and had been free on bond while he awaited sentencing.
In court documents Guzman listed his address as 20359 112th Rd., which is on property owned by Fleming Feed & Grain, where Guzman had worked at the time he was initially arrested.
Court documents show the charge against Guzman stems from an incident said to have occurred at 3:15 a.m. on July 28, 2012. The defendant is said to have entered the girl’s bedroom and began to fondle her in a lewd and lascivious way while she slept.
Guzman is accused of continuing to touch the girl and then having intercourse with her without her consent, according to court documents.
The incident is said to have occurred at a residence in Geronimo, Okla. while Guzman was visiting the area.
