A Udall woman - who was arrested in December for being intoxicated and combative with officers at Walmart in Winfield - was back in jail Saturday following a similar incident.

Numerous 911 calls were received around 7:55 p.m. from a woman saying she was drunk and stuck in a ditch on 232nd Rd. north of Ark City, according to a report from the Cowley County Sheriffs office. Deputies arrived and asked the driver, Josie C. Bitting, 24, to get out of the vehicle.

She was said to have become combative and kicked deputies.

Bitting was put into restraints and placed in a patrol vehicle where she started kicking the windshield, damaging a cell phone charger and a 12-volt plug.

She was placed in another patrol vehicle and taken to the Cowley County Jail without incident. Once at the jail, Bitting became combative again and kicked a correctional officer before being placed in a holding cell.

She is facing charges for battery of a law enforcement officer, criminal damage to property, DUI, driving while license is canceled or suspended, transporting an open container, no insurance and refusing a chemical test through Ark City Dist. Court.

Bitting is also facing a charge of battery on correctional officer through Winfield Dist. Court.

This is in addition to charges she faced for allegedly striking and biting officers at Walmart in Winfield last month.

Bond in that case has been revoked.

Bond on the new charges is set at more than $11,000.
