UPDATE: 7:55 p.m. Monday - A third suspect in the identity theft and fraud case was arrested Monday, Ark City police said.

Irma Yolanda Cristobal Cristobal, also known as Celia Ann Lopez, was identified as the woman taken into custody. She had a federal warrant out on the same charges faced by the two other suspects.

Local police confirmed that those arrested resided and worked in Ark City. Each had false names and documents to establish those false identities. They were also using several different Social Security numbers.

Ark City Police arrested two men - and continue to look for a third suspect - who were wanted by the Internal Revenue Service for identity theft and Social Security fraud.

Local authorities were asked last week to aid federal investigators in locating three people wanted on federal warrants. Those warrants were issued through the U.S. District Court for the state of Colorado.

Two of those suspects, Ismael Raymundo Mendoza, 39, and Freddy Castro-Alcon, 28, both of Ark City were arrested on Thursday. They were taken to the Cowley County Jail and later released into the custody of IRS agents.

Castro-Alcon, also known as Gilbert Baca Jr., also was wanted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mendoza is also known as William Valenzuela.

Charges against the men include possession of identification documentation to defraud the U.S., Social Security fraud and aggravated identity theft.

The third subject has been identified but has not yet been located.
