SNOW?: Winter is expected to make a return

Spring officially arrived a week ago but didn’t stay around long. Those who couldn’t wait to get outside and plant something may regret their enthusiasm by the time this weekend is over.

Anywhere from six inches to a foot of snow is possible in parts of south central Kansas. Throw in strong northerly winds and blowing snow, and visibility may be reduced to one-fourth of a mile or less at times.

The winter storm watch for our area is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday evening. Rain and thunderstorms?will likely entertain us in the meantime. The rain may change to snow Friday afternoon.

Two tornadoes struck early this morning in Mississippi. Texas and Oklahoma are expecting blizzard conditions . North Dakotans are preparing for major flooding.

Area residents should keep alert for changing weather conditions.
