Isaac Norton

Isaac “Ike” Daniel Norton, 88, of Arkansas City, Kan., passed away Tuesday morning, June 11, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 13 at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, June 12 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Memorial contributions in Isaac’s name may be made to the American Legion Post 18, contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.

Isaac was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on March 2, 1931 the son of William and Bessie (Cook) Norton. Ike was united in marriage to Lavena Francis Ratcliff on March 2, 1949 in Arkansas City. Isaac was a life-long resident of Arkansas City and worked as a clerk at Safe Way for over 30 years. He was a member and a commander of the American Legion Post #18, Ike also served in the National Guard. He enjoyed playing dominoes, going to the casino, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include his daughter Linda Leclair and husband Ranney, son Daniel Norton and wife Grace, grandchildren: Danny, Oscar, Ranney Jr., Amanda, CJ, Cynthia and Bianca, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lavena who preceded him in 2009 and a son Ronald Norton.
