The Arkansas City Police Department is investigating a shooting incident late Thursday night in west-central Ark City, with no injuries reported afterward.
According to a news release from the ACPD Friday, officers were dispatched at 11:28 p.m. Thursday to the 600 block of North Seventh Street for a report of multiple gunshots.
Cowley County Emergency Communications learned through multiple 911 calls that a person residing in that block reported a bullet had been shot into their residence.
Officers arrived at the residence, contacted the victim and learned a single bullet had struck the front of the residence.
No injuries were reported or observed.
Witnesses in the area described a gold-colored sedan and a dark car that were both seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to contact the Ark City Police Department at (620) 441-4444.
