Dr. Matthew Boswell Is Joining Winfield Family Optometry Next Month

Dr. Matthew Boswell is joining the team at Winfield Family Optometry. He will begin seeing patients April 20 in Winfield and Andover.

The practice is based at 3000 E. Ninth in Winfield and includes a second location, Andover Family Optometry. Boswell joins Dr. Cory Lindenman, who has served the community since 2004.

Dr. Jennifer Rider is departing the practice to relocate out of state.

Boswell was born and raised in Wichita where he graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School. He attended Emporia State University to play on the men’s basketball team while getting his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Pre-Optometry.

While there, Dr. Boswell made the academic honor roll every year while receiving all-league honors his senior year.

After graduation from ESU, he went on to Memphis, Tennessee and received his Optometry Degree from the Southern College of Optometry in 2016. Dr. Boswell is excited to be practicing back in Andover and Winfield, where he was a patient of Dr.William Holman’s growing up, and shadowed him in high school.

Holman ran Winfield Family Optometry for many years prior to retiring.

Dr. Boswell’s areas of interest are comprehensive primary eye care and ocular disease, which includes glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetes.

He fits contact lenses and enjoys seeing and addressing vision issues for kids. He is an active member in the American Optometric Association and the Kansas Optometric Association.

Dr. Boswell resides in East Wichita with his wife Kirsten, who is a nurse. They welcomed their first child, Baker, in February 2022. They love the outdoors, playing sports, fishing, and staying active with their Bernese Mountain Dog, Franny.
