7 Clans Casinos has issued the following statement:
Early in the morning of Tuesday, May 3rd, four shooting victims stopped in the 7 Clans Chilocco convenience store. The shooting took place off the property in Kansas and in an attempt to get help, they arrived on our property.
The personnel at the convenience store acted bravely in the face of a very uncertain situation. The clerk performed life saving first aid to help stop the bleeding on one of the victims and with the help of casino security, waited until EMS and the Kay County Sheriff arrived on the scene.
At no time did the victims enter the casino.
“I would like to personally commend our employees for their life-saving actions and our security for their quick response to the situation,” 7 Clans First Council CEO Bruce Barnett said, in a written statement. “We are committed to providing a safe environment for our guests and this incident reaffirms our staff’s ability to respond.”
7 Clans First Council Casino and 7 Clans Chilocco convenience store are located on Highway 77, north of Newkirk, Okla.
