There’s still time for summer reading fun

It’s not too late to join in the fun of the Winfield Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.

The last two weeks of this year’s program, “Get a Clue @ Your Library,” include a visit from the Cosmosphere.

Get a Clue about Space is for junior sleuths ages 6-11 and is set for 10 am to 11:30 am Wednesday.

Various animal owners and their animals will be part of the storytime squad, ages 0-5, on Tuesday from 10 am ? 11:00 am and junior sleuths on July 18.

Cowley County 4H participants are bringing various pets both days and Elaine Rankin is bringing her miniature horses as well.

The Clue Crew, ages 12 ? 16, Thursdays from 2:30 pm ? 4:00 pm., are throwing their creativity into altering books, a fun and unique art project led by special guest Sharon Olmstead.

Mystery movies will continue to be shown on Fridays from 2:30 pm until movie end. Future movies include:

July 13: Holes, 117 minutes, rated PG

July 20: The Pink Panther, 92 minutes, rated PG

July 27: Hoodwinked, 80 minutes, rated PG

There are programs for all ages going on this summer at the library. Meanwhile, prizes are offered for summer readin. If your children are not currently registered for the summer reading program, it’s not too late.
