Tanner Mora Arrested Following ACPD Investigation Into Counterfeit Bills

An investigation into the recent passing of bogus $100 bills led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Ark City man Friday.

29-year-old Tanner Scott Mora was booked in the Cowley County Jail on multiple charges and had bond set at $41,000. He remains in custody.

When arrested, Ark City Police said in a press release, Mora was found to be in possession of counterfeit money, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Investigators were also able to link the suspect to a case that took place earlier this month.

On Thursday, the Arkansas City Police Department began receiving reports of counterfeit currency being passed in the community. Officers took four reports, three of which involved passing counterfeit $100 bills.

Other counterfeit currency passed consisted of $20 bills.

Alleged victims included area businesses and vendors at the Arkalalah festival.

Mora was developed as a suspect arrested in the 700 block of South Summit Street. More is a previously convicted felon.
