Judge: All but one Thurber hearing is open

All but one of Justin Thurber’s pretrial hearings will be open to the public and the media, a judge ruled Friday. The one closed hearing pertains to statements made by the defendant to investigators.

Thurber is charged with capital murder in the death of Arkansas City’s Jodi Sanderholm. He is set to go on trial this summer.

Prior to most jury trials, hearings are held to determine the admissibility of certain evidence. A judge normally determines which of those hearings will be open to the public.
