AC woman tells cops man hit her with branch

Arkansas City police want to talk with a 51-year-old Ark City man in connection with an incident Saturday when a woman was battered, Police Chief Sean Wallace said.

Officers were on routine patrol when they saw a woman crossing the intersection at Madison Avenue and Summit Street near Jump Start convenience store.

“The officer could see she was crying. He made contact with her and saw she had injuries,” Wallace said.

EMS was called to the scene to evaluate the woman identified as Amy Moore, also of Ark City. She told officers Albert Lolar struck her with a tree branch and punched her in the nose with a closed fist, Wallace said.

“Apparently they dated before but were not currently involved in a relationship,” he said. “A friend of hers was also present and observed the same individual.”

Wallace is asking Lolar to contact police.
