Paint ball vandals picked up by Ark City cops

Two vehicles, 10 houses and three stop signs in Arkansas City were shot with paint balls before two Winfield teens were caught with the gun and several boxes of paint balls in their car early Friday morning.

Ark City Police Captain Tom Scott?said Kyle Larsen, 18, and Teague Adams, 19, were arrested and placed in the Cowley County jail on numerous counts of criminal damage to property.

The two were caught after an officer on routine patrol noticed a red?vehicle in the drive of the city shop on?W. Kansas? Avenue. As he approached the vehicle, it pulled forward and then stopped, according to Scott.

The officer found two occupants and saw the paint ball gun and several boxes of paint balls in the vehicle. One of the two gave officers a tour of the criminal damage. Both admitted to the crimes, Scott said.

Officers planned to go door-to-door informing property owners of the possible damage. Scott said he was unsure of the amount of damage or how the cold weather could affect the impact of the ball.
