A Kansas man who eluded Oklahoma authorities Tuesday night after a chase through two counties was arrested Thursday afternoon at a Ponca City, Okla., apartment complex.
David Wayne Vaughn, 32, was arrested by Ponca City police for possession of drug paraphernalia, assaulting a police officer and felony eluding authorities, according to Sherry Bowers, a Ponca City police spokeswoman.
Vaughn, who has lived in both Winfield and Udall, also has three outstanding felony warrants pending. Two of the warrants were issued in?Sumner County and the third in Beckham County, Okla.
Police originally tried to stop Vaughn on a traffic stop so they could arrest him on the warrants. Instead, Vaughn took off. Ponca City, Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers, the Kay County Sheriff’s office, Blackwell police and Grant County Sheriff’s office were involved in the chase.
