A man who authorities suspected was suicidal barricaded himself in his Arkansas City home with his two-year-old child early this morning, but was later taken into custody without incident.
The two-year-old was unharmed, a female victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, and the suspect was treated by paramedics at the scene for self-inflicted wounds, according to Arkansas City Police Chief Sean Wallace.
The incident occurred abut 12:30 a.m. at 1426 N. 14th St. A woman who was outside the home when officers arrived told them she had been involved in a domestic disturbance with the man in the home. Officers were able to enter the home and find the suspect who they identified as Brandon Lee Dunn, 23.
He was arrested for aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, criminal restraint, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. Bond is $13.500. A mental health evaluation was requested for Dunn.
