Armed robber runs after casino robbery Sun.

Oklahoma and Kansas authorities are looking for a black man in connection with an armed robbery in the parking lot at the First Council Casino two miles south of Arkansas City on U.S. 77 about 9 a.m. Sunday morning.

The man was armed with a .38-caliber gun and last seen headed north on foot from the convenience store adjacent to the new casino, said a Kay County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher.

One person was transported by Ark City ambulance to South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center. Initial reports indicate the victim, who has not been identified, was treated in the emergency room and then was to be released.

The suspect was wearing a blue and white shirt, red shorts and athletic shoes.

In an unrelated incident, three men who escaped from the Kay County jail in Newkirk Thursday night were found in a Ponca City hotel room Saturday night, the police dispatcher said.
