Ark City man arrested for DUI, hitting vehicle

An Arkansas City man was arrested Saturday night for drunk driving after his vehicle crossed the center line in the 3300 block of N. Eighth Street in Ark City, missed one vehicle but hit another, sending that driver to the local hospital.

The accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. as Gustavo Ramirez-Jimenez was heading north on Eighth in a 1998 Ford. At the same time, Michael Dulohery and Dionne James were headed south in their vehicles.

Dionne James was able to avoid the head-on collision but Dulohery was not, according to the Ark City Police Department.

Ramirez-Jimenez was arrested for DUI, no proof insurance and driving left of center. Dulohery was cited for no proof of insurance and no driver’s license.

He was also transported to the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center by ambulance where he was treated for minor head and leg injuries and then released.

Both Dulohery and James are from Ark City.
