Farmers’ market will host X-mas in July Sat.

It will be Christmas in July at the Walnut Valley Farmer’s Market Saturday morning. The holiday festivities may help take your mind off the oppressive heat that lingers over the area.

This is the time to buy for Christmas – that "one of a kind" gift," said spokesperson Dolly Bonfy.

"Seth Bate will be playing and singing and I bet he could put a ‘jingle’ in there somewhere," she said.

The market offers goods and produce locally grown, hand-crafted or made by the vendor from whom you are purchasing.

"Presently we have vendors from about 30 to 35 miles from Winfield, Udall, Oxford, Rock, Cambridge, Parkerfield and Ark City," Bonfy said. "Be sure to encourage neighbors and friends who have surplus fruits and vegetables to bring it to the market."

Local author Grant Williams will set up at the market this Saturday and display his books. He may sign a few copies for people as well, according to Bonfy.

The market is located at the entrance to Island Park and opens at 7:30 a.m.
