UPDATE: Police confirm robber got cash

UPDATE: 4:17 p.m. – A man who robbed a Home National Bank location at Summit and Radio Lane in Arkansas City Wednesday left the bank with money, police have confirmed. Investigators did not disclose how much was taken.

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation are assisting with the investigation into the armed robbery.

Police said it possible that two other black males were in a red GT Cobra Mustang with the suspect. A description of the suspect was revised to indicate that the man was wearing a long sleeve maroon shirt with buttons at the top.

A Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter first searched the immediate area around the bank and is in the process of searching an area from Ark City north to Wichita, officials said.

UPDATE: 1:34 p.m. – The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male between the ages of 30 and 40. He has black hair, brown eyes and is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

He has no noticeable scars, marks or tattoos. He was wearing a maroon shirt, a brown baseball hat, sunglasses and blue jeans. The suspect had no facial hair but had crooked teeth.

The suspect was armed at the time of the robbery and left on foot. He was headed north from the bank, according to a police dispatcher.

Police are looking for a red GT Cobra Mustang that may be connected with the robbery. Police could not provide a tag number.
