Two Winfield teens charged with obstructing justice in connection with a fire that destroyed the Island Park playground were back in Cowley County District Court Wednesday.
Arraignments were set for Dec. 23 for Christie Chaisson, 15, and Bret Martinez, 17. The third defendant in the Oct. 27 fire, Zachary Buhlke, 17, is scheduled to appear next on Jan. 7. He is charged with arson.
An arraignment is a proceeding in a felony case in which a defendant is brought before the court to answer to a criminal charge after a finding of probable cause.
