Atlanta man injured in Thurs. crash has died

An Atlanta man died Thursday from injuries sustained when his pick-up left the road north of Winfield and overturned, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Roger Moody, 29, was in critical condition in Via Christ-St. Francis’ intensive care unit for a time and died around 7 p.m., according to hospital and law enforcement officials. Moody, who went by the name Clay, was taken by air ambulance to Wichita around 3:30 p.m. – about a half hour after the crash occurred.

A preliminary KHP report on the accident indicates Moody was west bound near the intersection of 101st Road and 132nd Road when his vehicle left a curved section of the road and rolled two times.

Moody, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

He was driving a red two-door pick-up truck and was the only passenger in the vehicle. His death is the third Cowley County traffic fatality in just over a month.

A Burden man died Tuesday following an accident on icy roads. Another man died earlier this month near the Dunbar Hill area by Arkansas City and a client of Creative Community Living died in a van crash in late December.
