AC cops nab suspects in pair of recent crimes

A male student at Arkansas City Middle School has confessed to vandalism at the school that caused more than $14,000 in damage to computers.

Police received a call Tuesday indicating employees of the middle school had a possible suspect in the office. Officers spoke with the boy and after interviewing him, he confessed.

The boy also identified another male student that was involved. That student was interviewed and eventually charged with aiding a felon. Evidence of the crimes was located at the residence of both suspects.

The Arkansas City Police Department also has developed suspects in another, unrelated case.

A 20-year-old Haysville man, currently incarcerated in Sumner County on a burglary charge, has been found to be in possession of property stolen during recent break-ins of several businesses in Ark City.

A search for a second suspect in that case is ongoing.
