Clark, Big Brothers Big Sisters reach milestone

June marks a significant milestone for a local woman and the organization she serves. Debi Clark, affiliate director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cowley County, has reached her 15th anniversary as a staff member with the organization.

Big Brother Big Sisters of Cowley County was formed in 1994 and Clark has been there since the beginning, serving first as an intern and then moving into her current role the following year.

The organization provides one-to-one mentoring relationships by matching children in need with professionally screened, caring, adult volunteers. During her tenure, Clark has played an integral role in reaching more than 750 local children.

"Over the years this job has become my inspiration to continue bringing more mentors and children together and to witness even more magic," Clark said.

Clark’s work Big Brother Big Sisters has always extended past the workday as she too has mentored local children.

Joan Tamburini, fund development coordinator for the local program, said she it has been a pleasure to seek Clark work.

"Debi has an unsurpassed passion for the organization and for the children it serves," Tamburini said. "She continuously gives of her time selflessly to make a difference in the lives of the children in our community."

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cowley County will host a 15th Anniversary open house later this year.
