A Winfield man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested after a brief foot chase Tuesday morning.
James Marler was taken into custody around 11 a.m after a traffic stop in the area of 19th and John in Winfield. Marler, according to authorities, bailed from the vehicle he was riding in and ran from Cowley County Sheriff’s deputies.
He didn’t get far and the chase lasted only about a minute, undersheriff Bill Mueller said.
Marler was a passenger in the vehicle.
Information about charges and bond amount were not yet available.
