JUNE 4

Deputies:

were dispatched to the report of a bull out at the intersection of US 166 and 141st Rd.

arrested Karen Gail Haskett, Winfield, on a failure to appear warrant.

were dispatched to a report of debris in the roadway in the 8000 block of US 77.

were contacted regarding a problem with an animal in a neighbor’s pasture southeast of Atlanta.

were dispatched to check a county resident expressing suicidal statements. The person was taken for an evaluation by Cowley County Mental Health and was transported by deputies to Osawatomie State Hospital.

assisted Winfield Police officers with a possible disturbance call in the 400 block of E Sixth and arrested a Winfield resident for driving under the influence, no driver’s license, no proof of insurance and no license tag.

and Winfield Police officers executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Fuller and arressed a Winfield resident for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

were dispatched to a report of a possible drunk driver eastbound from Oxford on US 160.

were dispatched to assist a resident with a snake in his car in the 16000 block of 61st Rd.

were dispatched to check for a reckless driver eastbound in the 4000 block of US 166.

A resident in the 29000 block of 291st Rd reported receiving repeated telephone calls
from someone trying to convince that resident to send $200 to an address in Jamaica to claim a two million dollar prize.

A resident in the 3000 block of 112th Rd reported that after advertising an item for sale on Craigslist, he had been contacted by a person claiming to want to buy the item with a much larger check and then have the seller wire the balance to another address.

JUNE 5

Deputies:

were dispatched to a residential alarm in the 8000 block of 21st Rd.

checked abandoned vehicles in the 26000 block of US 77 and the 27000 block of US 166.

assisted Burden Police officers locate and return some found property.

were dispatched to check for a reckless driver in the 12000 block of US 77.

assisted a motorist with a flat tire in the 5000 block of K-15.

were dispatched to a possible disturbance in the 10000 284th Dr.

were called to the Ark City Police Department to take a telephone harassment complaint from a county resident.

were dispatched to the 5600 block of 252nd Rd for a car/deer accident.

were dispatched to the 17000 block of 102nd Rd on a report of a juvenile out of control.

checked a party in progress at Silver Creek on 192nd Rd. No underage drinkers were found.

were dispatched to the 31000 block of US 77 to check for a deer that had been hit by a car.

were dispatched to the 18000 block of US 166 to check for a pedestrian walking along the highway.

JUNE 6

Deputies:

transported a prisoner to the county jail for the Ark City Police Department.

were contacted regarding a civil property issue involving the possession of a car.

were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 33000 block of 61st Rd.

checked and assisted a pedestrian walking in the 24000 block of US 77.

were dispatched to a prowler report in the 31000 block of 61st Rd.

assisted Ark City Police officers with a disturbance call in the 1500 block of N Tenth.

were dispatched to a burglary at Jim’s Short Stop, 11928 141st Rd.

transported a juvenile to Juvenile Intake for the Ark City Police Department.

checked the welfare of a calf in Wilmot.

were dispatched to check a report of a woman walking on K-15 north of Udall.

were dispatched to a disturbance in the 20000 block of US 160. A Winfield resident was arrested for battery, domestic violence and criminal trespass.

led and assisted with traffic control in Winfield for the First Annual Kansas Veterans Home Motorcycle Run from Westlake Hardware in Ark City to the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

were contacted regarding a pickup that had been reported stolen in Newkirk and checked a possible location for it in Cowley County, but was not found.

were notified by a census worker that he had been bitten, but not injured, by a dog in the 5000 block of US 166.

assisted Winfield Police officers in checking Lowell School in regard to a broken window discovered at the school

assisted the Winfield Police Department with a loud party complaint in the 1200 block of Lynn.

A Conservation Officer advised he had driven up on a possible disturbance in the 19800 block of 151st Rd. Deputies responded and subsequently arrested a Winfield resident for driving while revoked and possession of methamphetamine.
