Cowley College has spent $28,000 to correct salary errors that affected six of its faculty members, a school spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.
The errors in the assignment of salaries occurred as far back as the 2004-2005 school year but were only recently discovered. Payment of the back pay due was approved at a meeting of the college’s board of trustees July, 19.
Some additional adjustments may be required in the future but that can’t be determined until a final contract with the Cowley College Education Association has been approved.
A college spokesperson said the grievance in this case was handled through a process outlined in the master agreement and settled in the first step of that process.
