Cowley First would like to remind contractors and small business people about two tax workshops that are coming soon.
Experts from the Kansas Dept. of Revenue will visit Strother Field next Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop offers the basics on topics that include sales and compensating use taxes, withholding tax, estimated taxes and record keeping.
A workshop for contractors is set for 10 a.m. to noon on the same day at the same location.
This free workshop focuses on sales tax issues for contractors, subcontractors and repairmen, such as those who provide plumbing, carpentry, electrical, roofing, heating/air conditioning, or landscaping services.
