SEPTEMBER 3

Deputies:

assisted Kansas Highway Patrol troopers investigate a train/truck accident at the BNSF Railroad crossing in the 8100 block of 82nd Rd.

assisted with traffic control on US 77 at 252nd Rd, N Summit, and the Ark City Roundabout as Sheehan Pipeline Co moved large items of pipeline equipment from north of the Arkansas River to south of the river.

checked the ownership of cattle found out in the 10400 block of 42nd Rd.

were dispatched to the 31000 block of 53rd Rd to take a report of burglary to a motor vehicle.

assisted a stranded veteran who was attempting to get from Winfield to the VA Hospital at Wichita with a ride to the American Legion at Mulvane where Legion members agreed to help him from there.

were dispatched to US 77 south of Rock regarding a report that a northbound semi-truck was losing tread off a tire.

were dispatched to a report of a black angus bull out at 151st Rd and 172nd Rd.

were dispatched to an anhydrous leak at the Valley Co-Op, Hackney Branch.

were dispatched to a non-injury car/deer accident in the 30100 block of US 166.

were dispatched to a two car non-injury accident at US 77 and 82nd Rd.

were dispatched to a one car non-injury accident in the 21200 block of 21st Rd.

SEPTEMBER 4

Deputies:

were dispatched to check for a man stumbling in the roadway on County Club Rd south of US 160. A lost and intoxicated man was found and was given a ride to a residence in Winfield.

checked a possible underage drinking party in the 6900 block of 252nd Rd. Three underage drinkers were cited for minor in consumption.

transported three prisoners to the county jail for the Ark City Police Department.

attempted to deliver an emergency message to a residence in Udall.

checked an abandoned vehicle on 122nd Rd just east of US 77.

assisted Winfield Police officers with a physical disturbance in the 1600 block of Manning.

arrested Jennifer R Patterson, Winfield, on a failure to appear warrant from Ford County, KS.

were dispatched to a residential alarm in the 19000 block of 71st Rd.

were dispatched to the 5000 block of 22nd Rd to check the possible discovery of a stick of dynamite. The item was determined to be an old railroad fuse.

were dispatched to a possible trespassing complaint in the 5000 block of W Chestnut, Ark City.

arrested Kassandre A Price, rural Ark City, on a failure to appear warrant.

were dispatched with Burden Fire Department to a car fire in the 8000 block of 231st Rd.

were dispatched to a report of cattle out near the intersection of 262nd and 271st Rds.

were dispatched to the 23200 block of US 77 regarding a vehicle driving at a very high rate of speed.

arrested James Gregory Price, rural Burden, on a failure to appear warrant.

were dispatched to a reckless driver complaint in the 32000 block of US 77.

were stopped by a semi-truck driver needing assistance in the 1200 block of S Summit, Ark City.

were dispatched to Creek Stone Packing to take a report from a semi-truck driver regarding a passing motorist points a BB gun and shooting the side of his truck on US 77 between Newkirk and Ponca City.

were dispatched to check a pedestrian walking in the 27000 block of 91st Rd.

were dispatched to Burden to take a report of a car/coyote accident that had occurred in the 19100 block of US 160.

SEPTEMBER 5

were dispatched to the 32200 block of 61st Rd to check for street racers

were dispatched to check on a truck with an open door parked at a construction site in the 5000 block of 82nd Rd.

assisted Winfield Police officers in transporting an individual from Winfield to Ark City.

transported a prisoner to the county jail for the Ark City Police Department.

were dispatched to the vicinity of 152nd and 171st Rds to check for loose cattle.

were dispatched to the 28000 block of 81st Rd to check for a woman that had reportedly been dropped off in the middle of the road by a vehicle that had left the scene. No one was found.

were dispatched to Atlanta regarding a complaint of juveniles taking things off of a neighbor’s porch.

checked and assisted a pedestrian at 81st Rd and US 166.

and Ark City Police officers responded to an alarm at the Skyline Corporation.

responded with Ark City Emergency Medical Services to a medical call in the 10500 block of 242nd Rd.

were dispatched to a report of two ATV’s sitting in the ditch in the 8200 block of 241st Rd.

were dispatched to a loud music complaint in Atlanta.

were dispatched to check a disabled vehicle in the 14000 block of 111th Rd.

were dispatched to check a fire near the Arkansas River bridge south of Ark City.

were dispatched to Cambridge regarding a complaint of an ATV being ridden on private property.

were dispatched to check a possible drunk driver in the 25200 block of US 77.

were notified by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office to watch for a vehicle involved in a gas run-off in Cedar Vale.

SEPTEMBER 6

Deputies:

were dispatched to check a report of two people walking around on the roof of the Udall High School.

observed and removed debris from the roadway in the 800 block of W Chestnut, Ark City.

assisted with traffic control for the Atlanta Labor Day Parade.

were dispatched to the 2700 block of 11th Rd regarding an out of control juvenile.

were dispatched to the 7700 block of 252nd Rd regarding a complaint regarding a neighbor shooting.

arrested Robert Scott Williams, Winfield, on a warrant for burglary, theft, forgery, criminal damage to property and numerous drug violations.

were dispatched to the 18000 block of 131st Rd to check a suspicious male walking down the road.

transported a prisoner to the county jail for the Ark City Police Department.

were dispatched to an alarm at LaFarge Sand in the 1000 block of 122nd Rd.

The Kay County Sheriff’s Office notified Cowley County deputies and Ark City officers of a chase en route northbound on US 77 from Newkirk. Deputies took over the pursuit at US 77 and 322nd Rd. Ark City officers deployed spike strips at 306th Rd, but the vehicle did not stop. The chase continued on, at low speed, through Ark City. A deputy deployed spikes at Summit and Maple, deflating the remaining tires. However, the vehicle continued until stopped at 248th Rd and the driver was taken into custody. The vehicle was found to be stolen from Logan County, OK.

SEPTEMBER 7

Deputies:

provided traffic control on US 77 at the Ark City Roundabout, N Summit and 252nd Rd as two Sheehan Pipeline Company trucks moved large pieces of pipeline equipment back from the south side of the Arkansas River to the north side of the river.

were dispatched to a report of cattle out in the 15000 block of 182nd Rd.

received a report from an Ark City area resident regarding the loss and subsequent unauthorized use of an ATM card.

arrested James Robert Sparks, Ark City, on a sexual battery warrant.

were dispatched to Wendy’s, Ark City, to talk to a male regarding a domestic property issue.

assisted SRS personnel in serving a court order to remove four children from a home in Winfield and releasing them to SRS custody.

were contacted by a Geuda Springs resident regarding alleged mistreatment of a dog. That discussion determined that the dog was domiciled in Sumner County and the resident was referred to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.

conducted a funeral escort from Miles Funeral Home to Highland Cemetery.

checked a bicyclist stopped in the 1000 block of US 166.

assisted with traffic control near US 160 and 131st Rd while the Winfield Electric Department repaired a power line that had been pulled loose by a road construction truck.

provided traffic control at US 77 and 252nd Rd, N Summit and the Ark City Roundabout as two trucks from the Sheehan Pipeline Co moved large items of pipeline equipment from north of the Arkansas River back to the south side of the river.

arrested Zachary L Gardner, Ark City, on a failure to appear warrant.

were dispatched to a report of cattle out in the 8000 block of 161st Rd.

arrested Anthony Carl Saracco, Jr, Ark City, on a failure to appear warrant.

were dispatched to check arcing power lines in the 33000 block of 61st Rd.

arrested Perla Rameriz, Ark City, on a failure to appear warrant out of Lyon County.

SEPTEMBER 8

Deputies:

transported four prisoners to the county jail for the Ark City Police Department.

were dispatched to a prowler call in the 22000 block of 71st Rd.

were dispatched to the 6000 block of Beverly Dr regarding a juvenile problem.

were dispatched to the 1000 block of 202nd Rd regarding an in progress theft of metal from an oil lease. With the help of the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol, the suspect was located and subsequently stopped on US 160 west of Winfield. A 22-year-old Oxford resident was arrested for theft in connection.

checked an apparently disabled vehicle in the 2700 block of 158th Dr.

were dispatched to a report of debris in the roadway in the 21000 block of US 77.

rechecked the disabled vehicle which was still sitting in the 2700 block of 158th Dr.

were dispatched to Atlanta for an illegal dumping complaint.

took a criminal threat complaint in the 33000 block of 241st Rd.

were dispatched to the report of a cow out in the 17000 block of K-15.

discovered and checked debris dumped in the ditch in the 2000 block of 85th Rd.

SEPTEMBER 9

Deputies:

assisted Winfield Police officers by giving a juvenile a ride from Winfield to a relatives house on Curtis Ave.

were dispatched to a 911 hang up from a cell phone in the 22000 block of 71st Rd.

were dispatched to a car/deer non-injury accident on 252nd Rd.

received a report of criminal damage to a mailbox in the 11000 block of 112th Rd.

arrested Garrett Bailey Watkins, rural Ark City, on a parole violation warrant.

were dispatched to check for a reckless driver northbound on US 77 from 212th Rd.

were contacted regarding a stray dog in the 15300 block of 103rd Dr.

were contacted by a rural Dexter resident requesting help with a domestic issue.

performed extra traffic enforcement in Cambridge in regard to a complaint of trucks speeding through town.

were dispatched to check a report of a possible disabled semi-truck in the 15000 block of US 160.

were dispatched to check a disabled motorist in the 17000 block of US 166.

transported two prisoners to the Ark City Police Department.

checked a fire close to a shed on private property in the 19000 block of 151st Rd. The fire was monitored and under control.

The K9 handler and K9 Khar assisted the Ark City Police Department during the execution of a search warrant in that city.
