Three sent to hospital in wreck on U.S. 160

Three people were hospitalized Thursday afternoon following a collision at the intersection of 21st Rd. and U.S. 160 west of Winfield.

Patricia A. Blecha, 24, Wichita, failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled her 2001 Ford pickup into the path of a car traveling eastbound on 160. Blecha and a passenger in her truck, Christine T. Ratzlaff, 22, of Moundridge, were taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Blecha was in fair condition early Friday and Ratzlaff was treated and released, according to a spokesperson for the hospital.

Aaron A. Nelson, 35, Ark City, was driving a 2000 Pontiac passenger car that collided with Blecha’s vehicle. Nelson was transported to William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

Blecha’s vehicle rolled after impact and ended up on its top.

The accident occurred just after 3 p.m. All those involved were wearing seat belts.
