Police find items taken from AC hospital site

A bust Monday turned up drugs and stolen property – including items taken from the new hospital work site north of Ark City, authorities said Wednesday.

The find came when Ark City Police – and several other agencies including the Kansas Bureau of Investigation – executed a search warrant at 1223 S. First in Ark City. Pot, meth and paraphernalia was recovered, in addition to a large amount of stolen property.

Some of the stolen property was found to be from construction sites for hospitals in Ark City and Beloit, Ark City police chief Sean Wallace said.

Brenton Garfield Jett, 37, Ark City, was arrested in connection with the investigation. He faces charges of felony theft, possession of stolen property, felony possession of pot, possession of meth and paraphernalia.

His bond was set $12,000.
