AC cops: Minors found in stolen Neb. vehicle

Three teens were arrested in Ark City Wednesday after police pulled them over while they were in possession of a vehicle reported stolen in Nebraska, according to a report from police.

Because of their age, the three juveniles were not named but were taken into custody. They also confessed to attempting to take items from several cars in Ark City.

The trio was spotted around 8:40 a.m. in the 200 block of W. Washington. Their vehicle was stopped by police because Ark City officers had received a statewide broadcast in reference to the vehicle being stolen.

The juveniles were in possession of a Pioneer brand car stereo that was stolen. The theft has yet to be reported and police are hoping to find the item’s rightful owner.

The police department is unaware of the location within the city that the stereo was stolen, if you have been the victim of theft from a motor vehicle in the past three days and you are missing a Pioneer brand stereo, and can verify ownership of the stereo, please call Lt. Detective Mark McCaslin at 620-441-4444.
