Parker: Man pushed woman, headbutted cop

A Winfield man was arrested over the weekend after police say he pushed a woman through a Main St. storefront and later headbutted a police officer.

Robert L. Davis Jr., 26, was arrested in connection with the incident early Saturday morning. He faces charges of battery against a law enforcement officer, criminal damage to property and domestic battery.

He was released on $2,750 bond, according to jail records.

Davis and a female companion had been at a bar just before the incident began in front of building at 1016 Main owned by Marie Holt. Davis is accused of pushing the woman into a window and breaking the window.

Police caught up with Davis at the intersection of 12th and Loomis and he was arrested.

As he was being transported to jail, Davis is said to have headbutted police Lt. Jerry Donals in the nose. The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m.
