Cowley County Sheriff’s Report for March 3, 2011

Deputies were dispatched to a car/seer accident in the 15100 block of US 160.

Deputies were dispatched to check a report of guineas running around on the highway in the 25000 block of US 77.

Deputies were dispatched to the report of a cow out in the vicinity of 61st Rd and Skyline Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to check the report of a dead dog on the highway in the 20000 block of US 77.

The Sheriff’s Office was advised of pipeline testing that would be occurring in the southeast corner of Cowley County.

Deputies responded with numerous area fire departments to a large grass fire in the Frand Summit area of northeast Cowley County.

Deputies checked an abandoned vehicle in a private driveway in the 19000 block of US 166. They also checked another abandoned vehicle in a field access drive in the 10000 block of 132nd Rd.

Deputies responded with the Burden Fire Department to a front end loader on fire in the 15000 block of 112th Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to check for a dead deer in the roadway in the 9000 block of US 166.

Deputies were dispatched to a minor two vehicle non-injury accident in the 1000 block of US 160.

Deputies were dispatched to check a pedestrian walking northbound in the vicinity of US 77 and 112th Rd. He was eventually located at the US 77 and K-15 junction and was assisted with a ride to Douglas.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of possible shooting occurring in a fiels south of US 166 on 239th Dr.

Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 12000 block of US 77 and subsequently arrested the male driver, reportedly a resident of Wichita, for having no driver’s license.

Deputies transported three prisoners to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

Deputies were dispatched to remove a dead deer from the highway in the 21000 block of US 160.
