Cowley County Sheriff’s Report for April 7, 2011

Based on information developed by deputies and Ark City, Danny Davis, was arrested by Winfield Police officers at a location in Winfield on a probation violation warrant.

Deputies took a report regarding a car that had hit a tired that had come loose from a passing trailer end of 34500 block of US 166 on Wednesday.

Deputies arrested Teresa Stroud, Ark City, on a failure to appear warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to check for a vehicle southbound from Winfield in the northbound lanes of US 77.

Deputies were contacted regarding the condition of a dog in Burden. The incident was referred to the Burden Police Department.

Deputies arrested Shirley Gould, Ark City, on a failure to appear warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to the report of a cow out along the Highway in the 1000 block of US 166.

Deputies were contacted regarding a noise complaint in Geuda Springs.

Deputies were contacted regarding a landlord/tenant problem in Winfield.

Udall Fire Department requested deputies at a disturbance at a fire scene in Udall.

Deputies were dispatched to check reports of gunshots being heard in the Kaw Wildlife area behind the old Total Refinery at Ark City.

Deputies were dispatched to check a report of two vehicles blocking the highway in the 10000 block of US 166. A service truck was found changing a flat tire on a semi -ruck and they were blocking only a portion of a turn lane, not the entire highway.

Deputies were dispatched to check a report of someone pounding on the back door of a residence in the 26000 block of 61st Rd.

Deputies and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers assisted the Cowley County Drug Force and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation with the execution of a search warrant at 314 Williams Place in Udall. A 29-year-old male and 26-year-old female resident were arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. A 29-year-old male and 23-year-old female were also arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and both were also arrested for probation violation.

Deputies were dispatched to the 8000 block of 22nd Rd. to check for a vehicle reportedly driving around the area without lights.

Deputies stopped a vehicle at 33rd St. And Elwell Dr., Winfield, for failure to maintain a single lane. An 18-year-old female was subsequently cited for minor in consumption.

Deputies were dispatched to the 32000 block of 61st Rd. for a car/deer accident.

Deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of the 132nd Rd. where a vehicle had hit and injured a deer. There was insufficient damage for an accident report, but the deer was severely injured and was put down.
