Local man accused of pulling gun on someone

Winfield police arrested a local man accused of pulling a gun on someone late last month.

Kent D. Walker was arrested and jailed Friday on a charge of aggravated assault. His bond was set at $56,750 and he remained in jail Monday.

Walker’s bond is higher than usual, Cowley County Attorney Chris Smith said, because Walker was out on bond in another felony case when the latest incident is said to have occurred.

Walker, 24, is a convicted felon, according to state corrections records.

Winfield police chief Danny Parker said the charges against Walker stem from an incident April 24 in which the suspect is said to have pointed a handgun on a person in the 1300 block of Main.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m.

Reports in the case were prepared and sent to Smith’s office for formal charging.
