Cowley County Sheriff’s Reports for May 13 – 15, 2011

MAY 13

Deputies were dispatched to a miscellaneous domestic disagreement in Silverdale.

Craig Cameron Coday, Jr, Ponca City, and Jonathan Gilbreth, Winfield, were arrested on probation violation warrants.

Deputies received a complaint about a past incident of trespassing in the 20000 block of 95th Rd.

Ashley Ingram who was already in the county jail on other charges was served with a parole violation warrant.

A vehicle westbound on US 166 from this Chautauqua County line was reported as being driven recklessly. The vehicle was located but no infractions or reckless operation were noted.

A report about domestic battery was determined to have occurred within the city of Winfield. The matter was referred to the Winfield Police Department.

Dennis Goebel, Burden, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

Grant James Thomison who was in the county jail on other charges was served with a warrant for non-support of a child.

MAY 14

Deputies were dispatched to assist Ark City Police officers with a possible burglary in progress in the 1400 block of South Summit. However, Ark City Police officers determined it was the owner going into his business.

A juvenile fishing party along the Arkansas River and the Kaw Wildlife area was checked. No alcohol was involved.

Deputies transported four prisoners to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

Deputies did a welfare check on a juvenile in the 10000 block of 284th Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to the 6600 block of 322nd Rd. to check for a vehicle last seen in that area regarding suspicious activity beauty in that vehicle.

Scrap metal was taken without authorization from property near the Chautauqua County line.

A vehicle was stopped for a minor traffic violation in the 1600 block of South Summit, Ark City. The driver had been drinking but found not to be legally intoxicated.

Deputies were dispatched to a residential alarm in the 8000 block of 21st Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to a car/deer accident in the 3000 block of US 166.

Deputies were dispatched to a verbal disturbance in the 31000 block of 55th Pl.

MAY 15

A suspicious vehicle was checked in Dexter.

A vehicle was stopped for traffic violations in the 100 block of East Eighth, Winfield. The driver, a resident of pot when was found to have been drinking and arrested for driving under the influence.

Deputies investigated a loud music complaint in the 100 block of Paradise Lane.

A car/deer injury accident was reported at US 77 and K-15. Upon arrival a dead deer was found but no vehicle or persons. The vehicle was found about 1 mile South of Douglas and Butler County. The accident is being investigated by a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper.

Deputies checked for a suspected drunk driver leaving the vicinity of the 31000 block of 55th Pl.

A vehicle was reported to have been taken from an address in Winfield by a friend, but without authorization. The reporting party subsequently advised the car had been returned.

J W Hawkins, Ark City, was arrested on a parole violation warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to check a juvenile reported walking on the highway in about the 24100 block of US 77.

Two unknown horses were found in a wheat field in the 6000 block of 172nd Rd.the owners of the horses were found and they retrieved the horses.

A Craftsman 33 gallon air compressor with an orange air hose was reported stolen from the to 22000 block of 71st Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to Atlanta on a neighborhood property dispute.

Amy Lynn Lawler, Ark City, was arrested on forgery, theft and failure to appear warrants.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of cattle out in the 3000 block of 322nd Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of horses out in the 30000 block of 91st Rd.

Deputies checked a vehicle and its occupants who were observed parked on an oil lease in the 25000 block of 51st Rd.

When deputies checked a vehicle found parked on the side of the road in the 9000 block of 312 road, the occupants were found at a campfire by the river and all was fine.

An abandoned car was checked in the 23000 block of US 77.

Deputies checked a vehicle traveling at a very high rate of speed westbound from the Chautauqua County line on US 166.

An abandoned vehicle was checked in the 29000 block of US 166.
