A Wellington man died Tuesday morning when his Harley Davidson collided with a truck and trailer in Sumner County.

Curtis W. Proffitt, 55, was westbound on U.S. 166 Highway, about four miles east of South Haven, when a truck pulling a U-Haul trailer turned into Proffitt’s motorcycle, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol. He was dead at the scene.
