Cambridge man, 84, recovering from accident

A Cambridge man is recovering in a Wichita hospital after being injured in a collision near Burden Thursday morning.

Amil “Barney” Lundy, 84, was listed in serious condition Monday at Wesley Medical Center, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Lundy was westbound on 152nd at the intersection with U.S. Highway 160 when he failed to properly yield at the stop sign, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. He struck the side of a Peterbilt semi-truck that was southbound hauling rock on the highway.

Lundy was first taken to a hospital in Winfield before being transported to Wesley.

The driver of the semi truck was not injured, according to the report. The accident occurred around 11 a.m.
