AUGUST 12

Cattle were out in the neighbor’s bean field in the 17000 block of 202nd Rd.

An harassment complaint was investigated in Udall.

A theft of prescription medications report was taken in the 31000 block of 53rd Rd.

Barb wire fence was reported damaged in the 23000 block of 291st Rd.

An illegal dumping complaint was taken in the 9500 block of 192nd Rd.

Udall Police officers were assisted by deputies with a two vehicle non-injury accident at 100 N. Blankenship in Udall.

A motorist was assisted by deputies in reloading a large box that had fell out of their pickup in the 400 block of West Ninth, Winfield.

A fire was reported to be in the area of 12000 block of 296th Rd. but deputies were unable to find any fire.

Deputies were dispatched to the Strother Field area on US 77 to check a report of a disabled motorist. Two separate motorist were found having vehicle problems in that area, but neither needed assistance.

During a power outage at Cowley 8 Cinema, deputies assisted in evacuating patrons in the dark and clearing and securing the building.

Deputies were dispatched to Camp Horizon upon receiving a report of two juveniles missing during a family outing at that facility. A search was conducted with the assistance of family members, Ark City and Winfield Fire Department personnel, Ark City Emergency Medical Services, the Winfield Police Department K-9, the Cowley County Tracking Team and a Kansas Highway Patrol aircraft. At approximately 1:30 AM the juveniles were located safe and unharmed at a site where they had taken refuge after becoming lost in the dark and caught in the thunderstorms passing through the area.

AUGUST 13

A vehicle reportedly blocking the road in the 30000 block of 61st Rd. was checked.

A report of a strong anhydrous smell around the Valley Co-Op facility at Hackney was checked and no excessive odor, leaks for other problems were found.

Two prisoners were transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

A burglary was reported in the 2800 block of West Ninth, Winfield.

A bay horse with black stockings and white on its face was found in the 17500 block of 281st Rd.

A mailbox was reported stolen in the 16000 block of 102nd Rd. It was also found that another mailbox in that area was stolen and also a third one damaged.

A Black Angus bull was missing from a pasture at about the 26200 block of 71st Rd., northeast of Ark City.

Two vehicles parked at Country View School was checked in the 16300 block of 151st Rd.

An alarm was checked in the 16300 block of US 77.

AUGUST 14

Property was found in the 5000 block of 322nd Rd.

A prisoner was transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

A car/deer accident occurred in the 11000 block of 82nd Rd.

Ark City Fire Department and deputies responded to a house fire in the 32200 block of 31st Rd.

A two vehicle non-injury accident occurred at the intersection of US 77 and 202nd Rd.

Deputies took the report of a second mailbox stolen from the 15000 block of 102nd Rd.

A male walking westbound in the 1500 block of West Madison, Ark City, was checked by deputies.

Deputies were requested by Ark City Fire Department to periodically check the side of the previous house fire in the 32200 block of 31st Rd. for a rekindles.

A one vehicle non-injury accident occurred in the 17000 block of 151st Rd. involving a truck pulling a boat.

A black bull was on the road in the 29000 block of K-15 south of US 166.

AUGUST 15

A domestic disturbance was checked in the 6000 block of 322nd Place. Lindsey Hoskins, of that address, was arrested for domestic battery.

The theft of a large round bale of hay was reported from the 8000 block of 222nd Rd.

Two prisoners were transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

Deputies were advised of a suspected drunk driver traveling northbound from Winfield on US 77 toward Butler County.

An unfamiliar vehicle that was reported to have been parked behind a Burden business for several days was checked by deputies.

Ark City Police officers were assisted by deputies in investigating a disturbance at Meadow Walk Apartments.
