AUGUST 26

A complaint was received of rock haulers engine braking in the 8000 block of US 166.

A miscellaneous dog complaint was taken in Rock.

Deputies escorted a funeral procession from Miles Funeral Service to the Veteran’s Cemetery.

Winfield Police officers were assisted by deputies in attempting to locate an individual for a rest in the 400 block of Andrews.

Deputies checked for a piece of log on the road in the 30000 block of US 77 S. of Ark City.

Winfield Police officers were assisted by deputies in attempting to locate a suspect in the 500 block of East Seventh and at Tunnel Mill Dam.

The K-9 deputy and Khar were requested to assist in checking a car another deputy had stopped in the 31000 block of US 77.

AUGUST 27

Deputies checked suspicious activity observed at a business site at the northern part of industrial park at Strother Field.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of US 77 and 306 Road to check for a male reportedly exposing himself to passing motorist. No one was found.

An abandoned car was checked in the 20250 block of US 77.

Criminal damage to a mailbox was reported in the 9000 block of 146th Dr.

The welfare of a resident who could not be contacted by family members was checked in the 29000 block of Eastridge Dr..

A trash dumping complaint was taken in the 7000 block of 248th Road.

Shooting was reported in the 29000 block of 41st Rd. A neighbor was found safely target shooting.

Suspicious activity was checked in the 31000 block of 61st Rd.

Cattle were out in the 14000 block of US 160. Investigation disclosed a vehicle had gone off the southbound side of the road and through the pasture fence, then drove back onto the highway and left the scene. The cattle were able to escape through the torn down there. The cattle were put up in the fence repaired by neighbors as the owner was found to be out of town. A hit and run accident report was prepared.

A family disturbance involving a disruptive juvenile was checked in the 6000 block of 332nd Rd..

Ark City Police officers were assisted by deputies with a sobriety check Lane in the 100 block of North US 77 bypass, Ark City.

A prowler was reported in the 5000 block of 252nd Rd.

AUGUST 28

Two prisoners were transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

An illegal dumping complaint was taken in the 26000 block of 31st Rd.

Deputies were informed of a reckless driving issue regularly occurring in the area of 31st Rd. and 262nd Rd.

A motorist appearing to need assistance was checked in the 6600 block of Harding Avenue in IXL.

Trespassing, damage to property and theft was reported in New Salem.

Found property was turned over to deputies in the 6000 block of 332nd Rd. The owner was located and arrangements made to return the property.

A trespassing complaint was taken in the 6000 block of 42nd Rd.

A cow was out on 162nd Rd. just west of 271st Rd.

A report of an injured deer on the road was checked in the 21200 block of 151st Rd.

Winfield Police officers were assisted by deputies with an injury accident in the 1300 block of E Ninth, Winfield.

Winfield Police officers were assisted by deputies with a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of Manning, Winfield.
