Former Burden police chief Travis Lowe has found a new job as a police chief in northeastern Oklahoma.
Lowe was offered the position of chief for the town of Bernice in the Grand Lake area, according to a report in the Grove Sun. He was appointed Tuesday after a brief executive session.
In April of this year, Lowe resigned after being arrested Nov. 12 during a domestic disturbance in Burden involving his wife. He was originally charged with domestic battery but that charge was reduced as part of a plea agreement.
Lowe was required to complete requirements of a diversion program and stay out of trouble for a year. The diversion agreement required that Lowe submit his resignation to the Burden City Council.
Will Tatum took over as Burden chief last month.
