Ark City to be featured in television segment

Ark City has been selected to appear in a TV program highlighting topics, trends and issues related to the Best U.S. Places to Live, Work and Play.

City officials are finalizing details for the filming of a segment for Today in America, hosted by former NFL quarterback Terry Bradshaw. Filming is expected to begin within 60 to 90 days and the program is scheduled to air in early 2012.

The show will air nationally on FOX Business and run 19 more times on CNN through the first quarter of next year, according to a written statement from city and chamber of commerce officials.

City Manager Nick Hernandez and Chamber CEO, Janet Siebert have been meeting via conference calls with the executive producers of the show.

“We are very excited to be selected as the community representing the midwest, this is an honor and a great way to market Arkansas City”, Siebert said.

The Chamber and City will have the rights to the segment for marketing the community.

There are some production costs involved in the project. If you would like more information on contributing please contact Janet Siebert at (620) 442-0230.
