Fire destroys RV in Atlanta Sunday morning

Fire Sunday destroyed an RV being stored at a home in Atlanta, fire officials there said.

Around 8 a.m., fire crews from Atlanta, Burden and Winfield were called to the report of a fire at 130 Maple. Firefighters arrived to find an RV fully engulfed in flames and burning very quickly.

Two nearby outbuildings also suffered very minor damages before the fire could be fully extinguished, according to Atlanta fire chief Darren Grow.

Richard Galleher is the owner of the property where the fire occurred. The RV was valued at roughly $2,500. No one was living in the RV at the time but it was used on occasion.

Grow said a small electric heater used to warm the RV was the likely cause of the fire.

Atlanta fire crews were at the scene for about an hour.
