Fire, smoke damage home in Ark City on Sat.

A home in Ark City was heavily damaged by smoke and fire Saturday evening.

Around 8:15 p.m., firefighters were called to the report of a structure fire at a home at 320 W. Walnut. Flames were and heavy smoke were visible from the stone home.

No one was injured in the fire, however it is believed that some family pets were lost. A firefighter was transported to the hospital for treatment of exposure to smoke.

The cause of the fire is not clear at this time, however an investigation will take place. Firefighters needed about two hours to bring the blaze fully under control.
