Lighted Christmas parade is Sat. in Winfield

A lighted, hometown Christmas parade is set for Saturday evening in Winfield.

The event, which is organized by Winfield Main Street – is set for 5:45 p.m. Saturday. It will begin at 17th Ave. and continue north to 10th Ave.

Community National Bank is the sponsor of this year’s parade.

The parade will include about 35 entries, with floats from United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, Walnut Valley 4-H, the Edge Performing Arts Center, Boy Scout Troop 318 and Creative Community Living, just to name a few.

There will also be vintage cars, motorcycles, walking groups and lots of horses.

All entries were asked to bring an unwrapped toy to check in that will be donated to the Salvation Army for local children in need this year.

Immediately following the Hometown Christmas Parade there will be a Patriotic Tree lighting, including music from the Winfield City Band, at Memorial Park.

Trolley rides through the Isle of Lights will begin at the north west corner of Eighth and Main in front of Lindly TV and Appliance.
