Winfield Police Reports for December 14 – 15, 2011

DECEMBER 14

Officers responded to an alarm in the 1900 block of East Ninth.

David Morford, Winfield, was a victim of felony criminal damage to property and burglary in the 1500 block of East 14th. Rodney Boyles, Wichita, was arrested in connection.

Rosemary Cooper and David Mortimer, both of Winfield, were involved in a non-injury accident in the 1000 block of Main.

Lucas Walker, Winfield, was cited for defective tail lights and no drivers license in possession in the 1700 block of Main.

DECEMBER 15

Khamfong Namphengsone, Winfield, was a victim of criminal damage to property in the 300 block of West Ninth.

An off-duty police officer noticed a car parked in the fire lane by the grocery doors at Walmart on Pike Rd. The car was running and an infant was in the back seat. When officers arrived they attempted to find a parent of the child. A few moments later, the mother arrived stating that she had only been inside a couple of minutes. Ten minutes had elapsed from the time of the initial call. Porsche Harper, Winfield, was arrested for endangering a child and possession of marijuana. She was also cited for parking in a fire lane and leaving the key in the ignition of an unattended vehicle.

Kathryn Lumbert, Winfield, and Vanessa Roberts, Ark City, were involved in a non-injury accident in the 800 block of Main.

Rashelle Soldan and Ashlee Kerns, both of Winfield, were involved in a non-injury accident in the 1300 block of Millington.

Carlos Cabrera, Chula Vista, CA, was cited for violation of the 11 hour rule in the 3200 block of Main.

Aaron Allred, Winfield, was cited for speeding in the 1900 block of Broadway.

Justice Connor-Allison, Winfield, was cited for defective tail lights in the 400 block of Main.

Mrs. Jo Ann Romero, 1300 block of Millington, reported that an individual had forced entry into her residence, while she was home, and had remained in her residence while she was on the telephone with 911 dispatchers. Winfield police officers arrived within minutes to find the suspect had fled the area. Mrs. Romero reported the theft of a large flat screen television valued at approximately $600. The Callie County Trackers were called in to assist with the investigation and were able to obtain a track from the residence southbound down an alley and eventually led to the recovery of some evidence. Mrs. Romero was not injured. The Cowley County Sheriff’s Department assisted in this case.
