JANUARY 1

Stacy Lynette Bruner-Johns, rural Ark City, was arrested for driving under the influence in the 7000 block of 312th Rd.

Mark Nelson Miller, Wichita, was arrested for driving under the influence in the 3200 block of North Summit.

A prisoner was transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

A business in Rock was checked after an open door was observed. Everything was fine and no evidence of forced entry was found.

A vehicle setting off the road was checked in the 15000 block of US 77.

A resident scratch at a residential alarm went off in the 5000 block of 322nd Rd. The residence was checked and found to be all right. The resident arrived home during that time and advised the alarm had somehow apparently been accidentally activated.

A motorist with a flat tire was assisted in the 1400 block of US 166.

Deputies were dispatched to a problem with a juvenile in the 15000 block of 141st Rd.

A miscellaneous cattle issue was reported in the 31000 block of 131st Rd.

A report of a dog bite to a juvenile that had occurred in the county was investigated at William Newton Hospital, Winfield.

A car/cow accident occurred in the 13000 block of 151st Rd.

JANUARY 2

A child custody issue was checked by deputies.

A Conservation Officer and deputies were dispatched to check for a person reportedly shooting from a pickup in the 12000 block of 151st Rd.

Goats were reported with her head stuck in a fence in the 6500 block of Wright Avenue in IXL.

A vicious dog complaint was received in the 31000 block of 51st Rd.

Criminal damage to an oil field equipment truck was reported in the 25000 block of 21st Rd.

A report of several possible explosions were reported in the area of 1000 block of 51st Rd.

A vicious dog complaint was received in the 10000 block of 286th Rd.

The status of several animals was checked in the 4500 block of 252nd Rd.

An accidental shooting was reported in the 4100 block of 57th Dr., Udall. A man accidentally shot himself in the leg with his 9mm pistol while reloading the weapon. He was transported to Wesley Medical Center by Winfield Emergency Medical Service with the parent non-life threatening injuries.

A resident reported that his dog had been shot in the 11000 block of 141st Rd.

Several juveniles, all wearing black clothing, was reported walking around in Cambridge.

Deputies checked a disabled vehicle previously left in the 24000 block of K-15 and noted that a window had since been broken and the stereo removed from the vehicle. The vehicle owner was contacted and advised.

A domestic disturbance occurred in the 33000 block of 61st Rd. Brandon Lee Sodowsky was arrested for domestic battery.

JANUARY 3

Two young juveniles were reported missing from their residence in the 900 block of Running Horse Lane. The juveniles had returned before deputies arrived and stated they had decided to go for an early morning exploration, but returned to the house when they heard the adult calling them.

A mailbox was reported damaged on Leed Road Southwest of Winfield. Subsequent inquiry located damage to numerous mailboxes on Leed Road and mailboxes and road signs on 81st Rd. between 33rd St. and Leed Road, on 33rd St. between 81st Rd. and US 77 and Amos Becker Road north from 33rd St. to the area around Highland Cemetery. It appeared the damage had been inflicted by a baseball bat or similar blunt object.

Deputies were contacted regarding a child custody dispute.

Deputies took a report from a Winfield resident regarding the loss of a license tag decal so they could obtain a replacement decal.

A burglary was reported to a barn in the 10000 block of 292nd Rd. Reported stolen was ammunition, a headlight kit, three 300 pound electric hoists, a broken arm drill press and three rolls of #4 copper wire.

The theft of a wallet was reported from an employee at the Cowley County courthouse.

A prisoner was transported to the Cowley County jail for for the Ark City Police Department.

A disabled motorist was assisted by deputies in the 18000 block of US 77.

A Cowley County resident contacted deputies regarding a domestic dispute, but the questions were resolved by telephone and the response was not needed.

Daniel R Ouellet, Lawrence, was arrested for driving with a suspended license in the 1000 block of US 166.

A one vehicle injury accident occurred in the 19000 block of 152nd Rd. One patient was ultimately transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Deputies discovered a semi truck that had become stuck and was totally blocking the road while attempting to turn around in the 22000 block of 31st Rd. A deputy remained at the scene for traffic control until a Strickland wrecker was able to remove the truck and get back on the road.
