Cowley First hosting a workshop next week

Cowley First will host a workshop next week at Strother Field entitled Keeping Your Job.

The event is set for 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday. It is free of charge, but participants must register by Tuesday if they wish to attend.

Christ Stanyer, internal liaison officer for the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas, will present the workshop. Area employers are invited to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to receive training tools needed for employment retention.

The Keeping Your Job presentation will explore techniques for managing time, behaviors and practices for positive workplace relationships, working successfully individually or as part of a team, and understanding the rights and responsibilities of being an employee.

Keeping Your Job is a part of the Basic Employability Skills Training series, a workforce development training tool utilized by the Workforce Centers and employers to sharpen essential skills needed to be successful in the workplace.

Focusing on key soft-skills, the BEST series recognizes that success doesn’t end at getting the job, but rather is created by consistent performance, teamwork, and the ability to work with others in a variety of situations.

To register, please contact Deb at 221-9951 or by email.
